At Glenwood Country Day Schol, you have the opportunity to give your child the gift of a second language.
GCDS offers preschool and kindergarten-aged children an experience in an environment that integrates Spanish.
Children are given a wonderful opportunity for learning a foreign language. By teaching students from a young age,
we help them develop a foundation that will help accelerate their ability to learn language skills in later years.
Outside, everything a child encounters is an invitation to collaborate,
create, and play. Nurturing the innate sense of wonder found in outdoor play
can inspire a child’s lifelong love of learning, establish a strong foundation for
future explorations, and offer them a window into their imaginations where they
are empowered to think freely, pursue curiosity, and grow together.

A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful full of wonder and
excitement on Glenwood Country Day School’s 40-wooded acres!
Glenwood Country Day School is proud to be accredited by the
Maryland State Department of Education
When children pretend, they are representing what they know about things that interest and
concern them, however, incomplete their knowledge may appear to adults. Encouraging
children to design and create their own outdoor tree forts on our 40 wooded acres supports
critical thinking and problem-solving.
Creating an environment that connect young
children, families, and communities with
nature.
Incorporating water play into our lessons is a wonderful
way to extend learning experiences beyond the classroom.
Open-ended and engaging, water play can be used to explore
everything from social-emotional development to STEM skills.
The perfect outdoor activity, water tables, pumps, buckets,
spray bottles, and more can all be used to reinforce the
key concept of water play: it can be anything you want it
to be!
We want every child to get excited about learning. That's why at GCDS, small class curriculums are developed around the needs of each child.
Our program is child-centered to integrate physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, self-help and aesthetic areas for the total development of the child.
Age 2-6 are the most formative years of their lives. GCDS groups children by ability and not by age. Our small, nurturing atmosphere, respects each child as an individual.
Certified by the Department of Education - all of our teachers have degrees in early childhood development with a desire to instill a love of learning and guide the child's exploration.
